Manager, Accounting and Finance

Jump.ca is looking for a motivated Manager to join our Accounting and Finance team in Regina. This position will oversee all accounting and financial reporting operations of the company. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, prepare monthly financial statements, and have responsibility for financial analysis for decision making.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage daily accounting operations and the monthly financial reporting cycle.
- Review, approval and preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly financial statements and other reports for review by the CFO.
- Review, weekly approval and processing of vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements.
- Review and approve semi-monthly payroll run.
- Ensure compliance with filing and payment requirements for provincial and federal taxes.
- Aid in annual budget process.
- Prepare annual financial statements and notes for audit purposes for review by the CFO.
- Coordinate the annual financial statement audit process.
- Safeguard assets by identifying and implementing policies and procedures to ensure a robust internal control system.
- Mentor and supervise staff.
- Coordinate insurance including renewals, claims and inquires with our Broker.
- Other tasks or duties that may be assigned from time to time.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor of Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent, specialization in accounting and/or finance.
- CPA designation in good standing.
- 3-5 years of experience in an accounting, finance, or audit position. Preference will be given to those with prior management experience.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently to ensure key deadlines are met.
- Proficiency in Accounting and Payroll software (Sage Intacct and Ceridian Dayforce preferred).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Query.
- Ability to problem solve and work with others to find solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to changes quickly.
